Going Green

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. All meals, foods and beverages are prepared and served by qualified child nutrition professionals. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

School meals are free for both in school and remote learners until the end of the 2020-2021 school year!

It has been great seeing more K-6 students in person, and we are excited to see more our SLRMS students in-person beginning April 26! The in-school breakfasts and lunches will continue to be FREE for all students.

We are also offering FREE meals to ANY child age 0-21, who is not learning in school in person full time (SLRHS students, Cohort C students, children younger than school age) . Grab and go meals can be picked up for these children on Wednesdays until the end of the 2020-2021 school year!

Meals for children who are not attending school full time, in-person can be picked up between 9:00am-9:30am on Wednesdays at Silver Lake Regional Middle School or 2:00pm-2:30pm Kingston Elementary School, or 9:00an-10:00am at Halifax Elementary.

To pick up a meal, please place an order online by using the Blue "online ordering" button found on the Grab and Go menu. Then,  simply arrive at the school during the designated pick up times and tell the worker the names of the children you are picking up for or how many children you are picking up for if you have not placed an order online.

The meals will contain a “Main Entrée” item which usually is a Grain and/or Protein food, milk for each meal, and an assortment of fruits and vegetables.

Some foods provided are ready to eat, but some require some preparation at home. See Heat at Home instructions here: HEAT AT HOME INSTUCTIONS

Each meal we provide for children helps to support our School Meals Program, which enables us to continue to feed as many children as possible.

We look forward to serving you!

If you would like to pick up a meal, please follow the preordering instructions here:How to preorder grab and go.

This helps us to plan to prepare enough meals for the day, without having too many extra!
